The Environmental Services Department here at Rutherford Hospital is made up of a dedicated group of individuals who are willing to make sure that our facility remains clean and inviting for our patients and guests. Departments such as EVS truly keep RHI running on a daily basis. In addition to the hospital facility, which includes the Emergency Department, Patient Rooms on four floors, Outpatient Rooms, Operating Room, Staff Offices, Waiting Rooms, and everything in between, they also serve eleven satellite offices. These outside offices consist of Insights Psychiatric Resources, Central Billing Office, OneSource Rehab, Cancer Resource Center, Carolina Community Care, England & Godfrey Family Practice, James Medical, Rutherford East Medical, The Mammography Place, Rutherford Surgical and Rutherford Orthopaedics. Without this teams attention to detail, we would not have fresh linens, sparkling patient rooms, inviting lobbys or clean restrooms. This department currently employs 41 people covering three shifts, and the recent bad weather was no match for them. Several EVS employees spent the night at RHI to ensure they would be available for work the next day. After all, the hospital is in operation 24/7 and does not have the luxury of closing due to bad weather. EVS employees are known to find a way to work, even with treacherous road conditions, because they know they provide a valuable and necessary part of patient care. As a matter of fact, one employee even road a tractor to work when her car wouldnt make it in the snow! RHI proudly salutes this team for their hard work and dedication and thanks each one of them for the role they play in providing outstanding customer service to our patients and guests.
