Rutherford Regional Medical Center was recently gifted with 17 baby quilts, handmade by the Rutherford Quilt Guild, for use in The Birth Place nursery.  Each quilt was accompanied by the children’s book which inspired the design.

Ann Parent, a member of the Rutherford Quilt Guild, challenged the Guild to come up with a favorite childhood book and to design a quilt inspired by that book.  Ann and her husband, Bill, are the owners of Ann’s Cozy Quilts & Fabrics located at 412 Charlotte Road in Rutherfordton.  Among the beautiful quilts were themes such as Dr. Seuss, Winnie The Pooh, Where The Red Fern Grows, Rub-a-Dub-Dub, Sesame Street and Mother Goose.  What a talented group of quilters we have here inRutherford County!

The Rutherford Quilt Guild currently has 55 members and meets the second Monday of each month at First Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Rutherford Regional Medical Center would like to extend our gratitude to the members of the Rutherford Quilt Guild for their generous donation to The Birth Place nursery.  Our babies will enjoy these quilts for many years to come.  Thank you!
