2nd Annual Golf Tournament
Rotary Club of Rutherford County will host their annual golf tournament Fri. Sept. 10, at Meadowbrook Golf Course.  Lunch provided at 11:30am by Big Dave’s Family Seafood. Rutherford County Animal Control Facility
Closed for repairs, re-open Mon. Sept. 13, 12PM.  Officers will be available for law enforcement issues only.  No animals will be taken into the Facility during this time. The Community Pet Center Office will also be closed.

Rutherford Habitat for Humanity
We are hosting an information session on Tues. Sept. 14, 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.  In this brief meeting we will explain the qualifications and requirements of owning a Habitat house.

Free Stop Smoking Classes
Rutherford Hospital is offering the Freedom From Smoking Program starting Tues. 9/28/10 at 5pm at the Cancer Resource Center. The program consists of 7 one hour classes, Tuesday evenings from 5-6pm. The classes provide practical ways to quit smoking and the support of others who want to quit smoking now. There is no charge for the classes or materials. Shepherd’s Care Thrift Store
Will close Sept. 30. Store wide closing sale through September. The Hickory Nut Gorge Outreach organization volunteer hours after the store closes will be used to expand the agency’s food pantry, senior gorgers program and outreach service programs. www.hickorynutgorgeoutreach.org will be up Oct.1, 2010. Thanks to the community for its support. As we work to expand our services, we ask you for your continued financial support to help our agency reach out and make a difference in the lives of those in need that live in our community.

Benefit Bluegrass Concert Series
