Sammy Gettys, 72, of Bostic

Sammy Gettys, 72, of Bostic, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Sammy was the eldest son of the late John and Shirley Ross Gettys of Bostic.

Sammy worked as a truck driver for many years, combining his love of driving with his lifelong passion for all things automotive.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauren of Forest City; his son, Shane of Charlotte; his brother, Willie and wife Christy of Sunshine; his granddaughter, Olive; his long time girlfriend Dot; his niece Willa; as well as other aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family received friends September 27, 2026 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
