Santa Doggie Jam set December 16

The third annual Santa Doggie Jam at Marshall Park at Kiwanis Park in Rutherfordton, on December 16 will benefit the Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue.

The event, held in loving memory of Marshall Abrams by his family, will be from 11am to 2pm at the Marshall Park "for dogs and humans" off Green Street, Rutherfordton.

Everyone is encouraged to bring fur babies for photographs with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Donations for the Heart of the Foothills will be received. Among items needed are kitten food, cat food (Purina One); puppy food (Purina ProPlan); cat litter, laundry detergent, bleach, newspaper and cash donations.

Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue is a place for new beginnings and is a safe haven for homeless pets while building a no kill community in Rutherford County.
