Shirley Mae Ramsey, age 90

Shirley Mae Ramsey, age 90, passed away December 25, 2025.

A native of Gaston County, NC, she was a retired secretary/bookkeeper and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, a member of DAV Ladies Auxiliary, and a Senior Center Cheerleader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Ray Ramsey; her parents, John Earl Childers and Vida Mae Neill Childers and two grandsons, Zach Norville and John Mark Gary.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rita Rae Gary (Bill), Douglas Kyle Ramsey, and Lori Norville (Chuck); siblings, Helen Sue Childers White, Charles Childers and Donald Ray Childers, her grandchildren; Kara Norville, Chad Norville, Jennie Doran, Jon David Ramsey, Joanna Ramsey, Jesalyn Ramsey and Becca Gary, as well as six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, December 31 at Crowe's Funeral Chapel, 118 College Ave., Rutherfordton NC 28139. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Ramsey will be laid to rest in the Rutherfordton City Cemetery.
