Stained Glass for Beginners with artist Brenda Holt as instructor is scheduled for six Wednesdays beginning January 23, 2019 and continuing for five consecutive Wednesdays (January 23, 30 and February 6, 13, 20 and 27). Instruction includes cutting the glass, placing each glass piece and soldering and fixing the glass to create a stained glass treasure. At the end of the six classes each student will have a one of a kind stained glass creation.

The classes are sponsored by the Rutherford County Visual Artist Guild and will be held at the Visual Arts Center, 160 N. Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC. Class fee for all six classes is $80 per person due on the first day of class and payable to the instructor. Classes are limited to four students and class slots are filled on a first come/first serve basis. The class size is limited to provide comfort and a stress-free environment for the student while they are learning,

Pre-registration is required with a $25 deposit to reserve a place in the class. The deposit fee may be paid at the Visual Arts Center located at 160 N. Main Street, Rutherfordton. The Center is open from 10am-3pm Tues/Wed/Thurs and 10am-6pm Fri/Sat. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Students must bring a pair of safety glasses and an apron for class and must wear closed toe shoes (no sandals, please). They also will be required to purchase additional materials of glass, foil, solder and came. It is very important for students to attend all classes due to the step by step procedure of creating stained glass.
