Starlyn Jenkins Philbeck, age 64 of Rutherfordton

Starlyn Jenkins Philbeck, age 64 of Rutherfordton died Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Starlyn was born October 31, 1961, in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late John and Betty Crawley Jenkins.

Starlyn worked as a medical office assistant for Rutherford Family Practice where she retired with 38 years service. She was a graduate of Chase High School and attended Kings Business College in Charlotte. She was a member of the West Point Baptist Church and was active in the Carolina Faith Riders for many years serving as the secretary and treasurer of the group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terrie Griffin.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Craig Philbeck, her daughter, Anna Philbeck Burgess and husband Justin, and two grandchildren, Jackson and Kate.

The funeral was held September 12 at West Point Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Scarlett and Rev. Paul Scott officiating.
