Sue Cooper, age 94, of Forest City

Sue Cooper, age 94, of Forest City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Sue was born December 26, 1931 in Rutherford County to the late Hoyle Dobbins and Ollie Davis Dobbins. She worked for Alexander Cleaners 14 years and in the cafeteria for Alexander School and Forest Hunt Elementary for over 15 years. Sue was a past member of Alexander Baptist Church where she served in several capacities and is a present member of Forest Lake Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charlie Cooper; son, Dennis Cooper; daughter, Glenda Cooper; five brothers and five sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Darlene Hooper (Stanley) of Forest City; grandchildren, Mitch Hooper of Charlotte, Mark Hooper of Rockingham, Jobe Hooper (Cathy) of Spindale, Matt Hooper (Angie) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Sam Hooper (Tia) of Forest City, Ryan Cooper (Gloria) of Charlotte, Kelly Edney of Forest City, Robby Edney (Beth) of Ellenboro; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral was held September 8 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. Wayne Toney officiating.
