Sybil Daniel "Peacefully went to Heaven to be with the Lord" on Tuesday July 28, 2015.

Sybil was a long time resident of Forest City where she lived with her husband of 53 years. She was a homemaker who was an amazing wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Sybil was one who had a smile that could brighten anyone's day, a laugh that could give you butterflies and a kind heart that could make anyone feel loved.

In 2001, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. While the disease took a toll on her physically, it could not conquer her loving spirit. Sybil was spared from this cancer and its debilitating effects.

In May of this year, cancer would strike again. She was diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas. Through her illness she always kept a smile on her face, the heart of a servant and love that kept people happy.

Her most prized possession was her family, but her two grandchildren were the dearest to her heart. She will be dearly missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Walker and Beatrice Wright; three brothers Chris Wright, Terry Wright and Danny Walker and an infant daughter Renee Daniel.

Sybil leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Ray Daniel; daughter Debby Hord and son in law Larry Hord of Shelby; two grandchildren Tyler and Jordan Hord both of Shelby and a brother Tony Walker of Gastonia.

A memorial service was held at Double Shoals Baptist Church in Lawndale. Dr. Brian Johnson officiated. Graveside services were held in Eternal Hills Memorial Park; 1565 Oakland Rd. Forest City, NC

Memorials may be made to Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery or to Hospice of Rutherford County.

The family would like to thank the home care nurses of Hospice and a special thank you to Sheila: one of Sybil's caregivers.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Daniel family.
