Talmadge Y. Greene, age 78

Talmadge Y. Greene, age 78, of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

Talmadge was born October 2, 1934 in Rutherford County, NC to the late William Frank Greene and Ada White Greene. He worked in textiles for many years and owned and operated an Electrolux dealership for many years.  He was a long time member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed NASCAR and working in the yard.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mallaree Greene and three brothers, Marshall Greene, Charles Greene and Bobby Ray Greene.

     Survivors include four sons, Ray Greene and wife, Pam of Forest City, Billy Greene of Mooresboro, Kenny Greene and Gary Greene and wife, Lynn all of Forest City; one daughter Lynnette Ashe and husband, Harold of Ellenboro; two brothers, J.B. Greene and wife, Martha of Florida and Max Greene and wife, Trina of Caroleen. He is also survived by five granchildren, Tamara Ashe, Ryan Greene and wife, Amy, Adam Greene, Christy Greene Trull and husband, Chris, Kayla Couch and one unborn great grandchild; sister in-law, Clara Crump and nephew, Michael Crump both of Charlotte.

     Funeral services were conducted at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Carnell, Reverend John Godfrey, Reverend Scott Huffman and Reverend Glen Wilson officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery
