General Manager, Forest City Owls, youngest ever in Coastal Plain League!

His energy level is infectious. He is determined and dedicated. He loves what he is doing and wants to wear a Petitt Cup Championship ring. He goes by the name of Jeremy Boler! He is definitely not the usual General Manager of a baseball club. That’s what makes him so special and gives the Forest City Owls an “above and beyond” leader. He became the youngest General Manager the Coastal Plain League has ever had at only 23 years old. He smiles a lot, will do anything to make the Owls a better team and give their loyal fans “the best experience they have ever had, perhaps not only at a baseball game, but at any event they might attend.”  He wants a great time for the guests, always entertain them and definitely make it family fun. When he observed that fans had to walk twelve feet to get a drink from the soft drink machine, he changed and made it closer by nine feet. He also wants everyone to know all about the Forest City Owls, their coach, players, and records, so he stopped charging $2.00 for a game program. Now, he gives them away! They are always free. He keeps coming up with ideas to make it more convenient to enjoy a game at McNair Field. He is now instituting food wagons throughout the ballpark. They come to you and are all over the ballpark! If you ever hear someone walking through the seats hollering out the famous baseball phrase we all grew up with, “Hot Dogs! Hot Dogs! Get your delicious Hot Dogs here!”, it might just be Jeremy Boler. Don’t put it pass him! In addition, he has very special nights. Typically the first game of the season is Tuesday, May 28th and tickets are only $2.00!

The coach, David Tufo, who defeated the Owls and their chance of winning the championship Petitt Cup last year is now the new head coach for the Forest City Owls. Typical of Jeremy Boler. He hired him! Former coach, Phil Disher moved up and accepted a position at Georgetown University. We wish him well in his new position and thank him.

Jeremy, from Charlotte, attended Gardner-Webb University, where he met his wife of two years, Adrienne. She got a job at Thomas Jefferson as a teacher at the elementary school. At the time Jeremy’s first job in baseball was working for the minor league baseball team, the Winston-Salem Dash where he was corporate marketing manager. He increased the attendance there by over 3,000 fans. Prior to graduating from Gardner-Webb University, he worked in the athletic department and served as a liaison to the Big South Conference. In 2011 the Owls were ninth in the nation in attendance. In 2012 they were seventh. Jeremy Boler wants to be fifth in the nation this year. Since his wife was going to be working in Forest City, Jeremy wanted a job here. He discovered that the Owls were looking for a General Manager and even though he was very young decided to apply. To his surprise and amazement after interviews by Jesse Cole and team owner Ken Silver, he got the job! Now entering his third season, Jeremy Boler is determined to give Forest City another championship. His energy level is so high, he could easily make the Energizer Bunny look lazy. All we can say is we’re fortunate to have him and like they say on tv -” beat the drum and keep going”!
