The annual event is now one of the biggest, if not the biggest event of its' kind in Western Carolina! Beginning at 9 a.m. until noon, this Friday, June 25th, over 70 departments from all over will be there on the grounds of Forest City-Dunbar Elementary School. Fire Departments, Sheriff Departments, and Police Departments are out to make friends! Don't miss this annual big, big show! As you can tell by the picture, all the cops are being sentenced to be a part of "Kids & Cops"!
It all got started years ago in Forest City with just coloring pages and crayons. Now "Kids & Cops" has become a must for every kid in Rutherford County.
Free Ice Cream, Snickers, Pizza, Sodas, and this year, something new, Little Debbie treats will be given to all the kids and their folks. Remember, it's all free! Helicopters, police and sheriff cars will be there. Demonstrations and lots of great music to make you dance. Dance contests are also in the works. A big treat is the fire department big splash and spray party. So, kids, don't come without wearing your bathing suits. It will be a cool way to enjoy this great event.
You can even sit inside a helicopter or a police car. Maybe, if you're lucky, you can get a picture wearing one of their hats! Ask mom and dad to bring their camera because there will be lots of opportunities to take some great pictures.
There will be plenty of free "giveaways"! Also, all those neat things to do with the sheriff, fire, and police departments will be on display. It's a great way to spend your day. These special and dedicated good guys - policemen, sheriff deputies and firemen - want to be your friend.
It all happens this Friday, June 25th, at Forest City-Dunbar Elementary School City Park. Plenty of free parking and plenty of great fun for everyone!
Remember, "The Verdict Is In!" This year is another year that it's all about "Kids & Cops"!
