Thomas Edward "Tommy" Carroll, age 86

Thomas Edward "Tommy" Carroll, age 86 of Forest City passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018.

Tommy was born May 12, 1932 in Rutherford County and was the son of late Lionel Clyde Carroll and Nell Lewis Carroll. He was a field representative for Equifax where he retired. Tommy was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City where he served as a Deacon and on various committees in the church. He also served in the North Carolina Army National Guard and was discharged at the rank of Captain. Tommy was a member of Carolina Regional Plymouth Club and had served as President of the club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lionel and sisters Patricia and Hazel.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Martha Tate Carroll, two sons, Greg Carroll and wife Elaine of Stanley, NC, Richard Carroll and husband Jeorge Varela of NYC, two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard and the NC Army National Guard.
