Thomas James Elijah, III

Thomas James Elijah, III entered into eternal rest after a six year battle with cancer on August 25, 2022.

He was born in St. Albans, NY August 9, 1956 to the late Thomas James Elijah, Jr. and Carmencita Byrd Elijah.

He graduated from Christ the King Catholic High School in Queens, NY. Thomas attended Nathaniel Hawthorne College in NH, University of Maine and graduated from NC Central University.

Thomas majored in accounting and worked for many major corporations. He had a love for carpentry and pursued a career in teaching carpentry classes at Central Piedmont Community College and Goodwill Industries. He trained students that had no career aspirations and led them into carpentry careers.

In 2021, he bought a cottage in Rutherfordton where he aspired to start a farm.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory daughter Jessica Jones, Seattle, WA, brother Edward Elijah, Sr. (Marcella), sister Marci Elijah-Lemons, several nieces and nephews, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Memorial services were held September 11 at A. E. Grier & Sons Chapel with Gary Holmes officiating.
