Thurman Lee Spence, (Cowboy), age 74, of Rutherfordton, NC, died December 18, 2021.
He was born in Wake County but lived most of his life in Rutherford County.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee Spence, mother Elizabeth Green Nix, and step father Paul Nix. Thurman was a volunteer fireman for many years, as well as a former Fire Chief of Shingle Hollow Fire Department. He worked as a crew leader for Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation for 35 years.
Thurman is survived by a son, Brandon Spence.
A memorial service was held December 22, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Casey Stockton and Rev. Brent Frady officiating.
