Vernon Harrill, age 91

Vernon Harrill, age 91, of Forest City, NC passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Newton of Forest City; son, Jim Harrill and wife, Emily, of Mason, Ohio; three grandchildren, Michelle Morgan of Fletcher, Jennifer Moore and husband, Nick, of Greensboro, and Chris Harrill of Philadelphia, PA; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Joyce Crawley Harrill; his parents William Vance Harrill and Flora Jane McDaniel Harrill; five sisters, three brothers and special friend Eula Childers.

Vernon worked forty-seven years for Burlington Industries. Throughout his life, and especially in retirement, he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, country music, Major League Baseball (especially the Atlanta Braves), and Tarheel basketball.

Ffuneral services were conducted May 14, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment followed at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
