Seven veterans received quilts from the Welcome Home Sewing Group during the Veterans Program at the Rutherford County Senior Center. The quilts are presented to offer comfort and healing to veterans and to thank them for their service and sacrifice. The quilts are in honor for the person's service, a reminder that freedom isn't free. The ladies put their hearts and hands into one quilt at a time. No two quilts are alike. Since group's inception in 2015 more than 380 quilts have been presented. Veterans receiving quilts were: James C. McConnell- US Marines, David Robinson- US Army, William A. Matteson- US Army, James H. Dawkins, Sr.- US Air Force, Felecia R. Hodges- US Army, D. Dennis Chapman- US Army, and James E. Suttle- US Army.
