Viola Holland Sprinkle, 89, of Rutherfordton

Viola Holland Sprinkle, 89, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025.

A native of McDowell County, she was born to Jonas Edgar and Alice Lee Holland. Viola spent much of her life as a seamstress, working for Tanner Companies, Inc., and later continuing her craft from home, where she shared her talents with many in her community. She was a member of Harris Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Coffey and Janet Roach; her grandchildren, Kimberly Parsons (Jason), Amy Smith (Chris), Brooke Blanton (Andy), Clay Sprinkle, Jr., Tiffany Sprinkle, Wesley Roach (Taylor), and Ashley Roach (Dave); her great-grandchildren, Amber Jump (Jake), Dallas Bristol, Nick Parsons, Drew Blanton, Carter Blanton, Mason Smith, Gage Lee, Miranda Lee, Hayden Lee, and Maxwell Roach; and her great-great-grandchildren, Jaxxston and Korbin Jump, her brother, Rev. Ray Holland (Gloria), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Clay Sprinkle; her sons, Clay Sprinkle and Donald Sprinkle; her sister, Wilma Ables; and her granddaughter, Crystal Bristol.

Funeral services were held January 9 at Crowe's Mortuary, officiated by Rev. George Whitmire.
