Scott Barnard (right) a regular volunteer at Washburn Outreach Community Center in Bostic was joined by his son John Barnard (center) and his grandson Paul Barnard last week at the food pantry. John and Paul, both of Atlanta, Georgia, surprised Scott on his 72nd birthday Friday, June 25 and helped pack and load food boxes. The food pantry will be open today (Thursday, July 1) and on Friday, July 2, closed July 3. Hours of operation are 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The thrift store is also open on the same days with $5 bag sales ongoing.
