Wayne Lowery, age 86, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025.
Wayne was born June 15, 1939 in Chester County, NC to the late Thomas Hoyle Lowery and Alma Tomblin Lowery. As a toddler, Wayne suffered the adverse effects of Polio and was physically handicapped, but he never let any of his impediments discourage him from living a productive life. He attended Henrietta Elementary School and was a member of the last graduating class of Tri-High in 1959. He worked as a delivery man for Coca-Cola and later worked for 35 years at PPG as a Timekeeping Clerk before retirement. Wayne was an expert at small engine repair.
Wayne was a dedicated husband and supported the love of his life for 58 years, Opal, as she served the Lord through her music ministry. He was a member of Caroleen Global Methodist Church and was recently attending Grace Baptist Church in Henrietta.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brian and wife Renee of Ellenboro; sister, Wilma Self (Steve) of Shelby and brothers, Bruce Lowery (Karen) of Ellenboro and Max Lowery of Henrietta.
The funeral was held December 17 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev.Sam Henderson, Mr. "Jabo" Whitmire and Pastor Lanny J. Funchess officiating.
