Wendy Nicole Mitchem Smith, 41

Wendy Nicole Mitchem Smith, 41, of Columbus, NC passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Wendy was born and raised in Rutherford County, NC and was the daughter of Larry and Pam Mitchem. She was a graduate of RS Central High School. She attended Wake Technical College.

Surviving in addition to her parents, is her husband William Lonnie Smith; two brothers, Darrell Mitchem of Rutherfordton, Spencer Mitchem (Brandy) of King; one sister, Candace Grissom of Forest City; four nieces, and three nephews, and many aunts uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 11 from 2-5pm at Carolina Event and Conference Center, 376 Hudlow Rd., Forest City, NC 28043. This will be an informal drop-in event, please feel free to come as you are.

To honor Wendy's love for animals, memorials may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
