Wesley Angel, age 85, of Shelby

Wesley Angel, age 85, of Shelby NC, was born September 27, 1940 and was welcomed into his eternal rest by our Savior Friday, May 8, 2026.

He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Olene Gray Angel. To this incredible love story, they added four children: Beverly Browning and husband Charles, of Shelby; Valerie Carr and husband Keith of Sand Gap, KY; Steven Angel of Annville, KY; and Dena Hawkins and husband Lonnie of Caroleen, five grandchildren: Brittany Sandlin, Chad Browning, Brandon Carr, Madelyn Hawkins, and Cameron Hawkins, 13 great grandchildren, including one special little man, Elijah Edward Goma, age 2.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Randle and Roseline Angel of McKee.

He is survived by one sister, Joyce Angel Smith of Liberty, IN and two special nephews, Randy Gray and Ricky Gray, both of Indiana, and a host of other precious nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.

Wesley was a devout Christian and family man. He was a member and deacon of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Wesley will be Saturday, May 16 at 2pm at the Indian Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Wilder officiating. A private burial will follow in the Angel Family Cemetery on Indian Creek.
