William Garnold "Garland" Hoppes, age 83

William Garnold "Garland" Hoppes, age 83, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Garland was born October 2, 1938, and was the son of the late Malvin and Essie Dellinger Hoppes. He was a 1958 graduate of Ellenboro High School and retired from Cone Mills after more than 30 years. Garland was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Ellenboro.

He was preceded in death by sister Lois Owens, and brother ZB Hoppes.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hunsinger Hoppes of 64 years, daughters Kim Limerick and husband Scott of Shelby, Crystal Cheney and husband, David of Seneca, SC and son, Scott Hoppes and wife Darla of Shingle Hollow, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family funeral.
