Yvonna Chapman Mayse, age 97

Yvonna Chapman Mayse, age 97, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Born in Rutherford County on January 7, 1926, she was the only child of William Elliott Chapman and Anna Bland Snowden and adored wife of the late Fred Lee Mayse, Jr.

Yvonna is survived by Freda of Shelby; Cindy and her cherished son in law, G. Harold Chapman of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Chosen Daughters, Leigh Callahan of Chapel Hill, Martine "Beth" Kommer of Luxembourg and Pia Wilberg Koistinen of Finland; beloved sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Yvonna graduated from R-S Central High School and Mars Hill College and completed professional study through the Bank Administration Institute. She worked at First Union National Bank at Rutherfordton's before retiring from a 45 year banking career.

Yvonna was a member of First Baptist Church of Spindale.

A Celebration of Life Service was held January 21 at The Spindale House.
