Yvonne "Liz" Annette Mathis Owens, age 71

Yvonne "Liz" Annette Mathis Owens, age 71, of Bostic, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

A native of Rutherford County, Liz was the daughter of the late Everett Mathis and the late Edith Lovelace Mathis. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Owens, sisters, Poody Stanley, and Letha Scruggs, and brother, Spencer Lovelace.

Liz is survived by one daughter, Cindy McDaniel, and husband Todd, one son, Sonny Taylor, and wife Nicole, one stepdaughter, Stephine Jackson, and husband Don, sister-in-law, Pat Lovelace, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several, nieces, great nieces, and great-great nieces.

The funeral service was held at Second Baptist Church March 10 with Dr. Rev. Keith Stephenson and Rev. Brandon Wood officiating.
