Got any dusty relationships?

You go through a season in life where you’re really close to someone.  You see him every day.  You talk with her often.

Then, the next thing you know, you move or he graduates or she gets married and you hardly talk at all.  Before you know it, your best friend is your former best friend.

Part of spring cleaning involves dusting everything, especially places you haven’t dusted in a while.  Spring cleaning your life means you dust off your shelved relationships.  Now how does that work?

Outdoor Truths
I’ve always heard that writing is more about perspiration than inspiration. It’s true. Even though it is very fulfilling to write about the outdoors, it is also difficult at times to continue to find worthy subjects and stories. Sometimes my mind soars with information faster than my fingers can type; other times those same fingers seem like they’re waiting impatiently for the next command. During the times of inspiration I can’t wait to get to the computer. During other times I dread its call.

What do you see?

My sister-in-law was getting ready for work one morning.  My niece walks into the bathroom wearing a pair of funny pink flamingo sunglasses.

She walks in so excited saying, “Mom!  Mom!  Look at everything!  It looks different!  Come on Mom!  Come out here!  Look over there!”  She takes her Mom out of the bathroom and into the den.  She thinks her Mom sees everything differently as well.

So her Mom patiently tells her that she’s not wearing pink flamingo sunglasses and so she can’t see everything differently.  So the three-year-old takes off the sunglasses, hands them to her Mom, and says, “What about now?”

And my sister-in-law says, “Things do look a little differently through pink flamingo sunglasses.”

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
I’ve noticed that those of us who love the outdoors are always in the moment and yet are preparing for an upcoming moment. This time of year is especially true of this. While turkey season is in progress, I am thinking about getting my gear ready for the river and am also making plans on doing the things now that will give me an opportunity at a big buck this fall. It is a constant circle of living, reacting, and planning. Again, it is living in the moment, reacting to whatever comes my way, and preparing for the future.

His energy level is infectious. He is determined and dedicated. He loves what he is doing and wants to wear a Petitt Cup Championship ring. He goes by the name of Jeremy Boler! He is definitely not the usual General Manager of a baseball club. That’s what makes him so special and gives the Forest City Owls an “above and beyond” leader.

East Rutherford Claims SMAC Softball Crown, Wild NASCAR Weekend at ‘Dega

Only Patton stood in the way of a perfect South Mountain Athletic Conference season, but it didn’t ruin the Lady Cavaliers goal in the end.
