NASCAR Showdown Ends In Miami This Weekend, TJCA Soccer Comes To Halt
NASCAR Showdown Ends In Miami This Weekend, TJCA Soccer Comes To Halt

The 2012 NASCAR season has one weekend remaining and by surprise, it’s Brad Keselowski who has all the pressure in his court this weekend.

I am not shocked that Keselowski made The Chase, but I didn’t see him winning the Championship coming into the year. Perhaps, by mid-season, everybody knew, Keselowski would be a force to reckon with.

What caught us all off guard was the fact that Jimmie Johnson blew a tire and pounded the wall last week at Phoenix. It looked like Johnson was about to become Mr. Six-Time, leaving him one championship shy of the elite, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.

Let Us Never Forget Our Heros...
Let Us Never Forget Our Heros...
Perhaps it is because of the recent and current wars that we are more sensitive. Perhaps because of the immense amount of our men and women who have volunteered to serve in our armed forces. Whatever the case, it is good to see that we are spending more time thanking and saluting those who are and have served on Veterans Day.

Rutherford County Bowls Out In Football Playoffs
Rutherford County Bowls Out In Football Playoffs

Last year, it was Chase who carried Rutherford County into the second round of the playoff on the gridiron. This year, not one team could do so from “Small Town Friendly.” Thomas Jefferson, Chase and East Rutherford were all close to heading to another week of high school football though.

The biggest surprise may have been the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons. The Gryphons started out 6-0 this year, but fell in six straight games to end the season. Rosman, who TJCA defeated earlier in the year avenged that loss with a 26-14 win this past Friday.

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
I really love this time of year. The areas that have a lot of deer hunters seem to always try to accommodate this crazy couple of weeks. Even mommas who are normally more about cleanliness are excited to see their little boy or girl come home with a little blood on them from a successful morning. I have heard of places where school is closed during the first week of rifle season and I have personally witnessed every hotel room in a Days Inn in Kentucky being occupied with hunters. I can still picture the parking lot full of trucks, trailers, four wheelers, and deer. The weirdest thing however was watching hunter after hunter waltz throughout the lobby and down the halls with their rifle in tow and garnished with blaze orange. Think with me just a second though……….
