For 39 years one of the best and biggest family fun days is the annual “let’s get together” on the top of the hill in Rutherfordton. Our county seat is the host for an annual event that is all about family first. Every year it gets better and better. This year two major bands have been booked. Also, for the kids - wow - pony rides have been added.

Some years ago, my left hand started swelling. Soon cellulitis set in and my thumb and index finger started convulsing. That got my attention so I went to the doctor.

It seems that when Brent and I get together, there’s always a story to tell. I can remember on one turkey hunt where we happened to come up on a hen and a gobbler. The hen went in one direction as the gobbler began in the other.
