Trojans Claim County Football In 2011
Trojans Claim County Football In 2011
Last Friday’s football game was everything East Rutherford and Chase could have asked for in the end.

Chase owned the game, but East Rutherford rallied late.

However, an incomplete pass off the hands of East’s Griffin Stamey as he jumped for the ball close to the goal line and as time expired sealed the 2011 Rutherford County Championship, 24-20 for the Trojans in 2011.

Chase did everything they wanted to do until the final few minutes of the contest as they put together long methodical drives and kept possession of the ball for 25 of the first 36 minutes.

I’m one of those guys who really try to be prepared – really overly prepared. It seems that I’ve done this hunting and fishing thing for so long, that I know it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. And when it comes to deer hunting away from home and in the cold; it is that much more crucial. As a result of my hang-up, my favorite piece of gear is a backpack. I prefer one that is at least 3000 cubic inches and has lots of ways to tie stuff down on the outside as well. It is good for it to be waterproof also. It seems that no matter how warm it may be, I’m still carrying a backpack.

Do you encourage?

I sat in one of those comfy chairs in the mall; the kind they put there for Dads when they’re sent out of the clothing store for asking, “What about this?” for the hundredth time.  And so I sat watching people go by.

County Championship to be Decided This Friday
County Championship to be Decided This Friday
What can you say? Last Friday night was a rough one as all four county football teams lost on the gridiron to much better teams. All four of those losses were to teams who have traditionally been pretty good in the sport.

Chase suffered a 55-13 loss at Freedom, Shelby foiled East Rutherford 43-7, Burns couldn’t be stopped as R-S Central was topped 60-6 and Hendersonville rolled 56-17 over Thomas Jefferson.

There’s always one deer that stands out in the group. And it’s always a doe – the matriarch of the clan. She’s the one who stands guard while the others eat or play. She is usually the last one in line and is quick to scan the surroundings of her newly entered area. If anything even seems to be slightly unnatural; she becomes immediately skeptical. The benefit the doubt never goes to the surroundings, but to her. She trusts her nose and will move and reorient herself until her eyes verify and perfectly pinpoint the perpetrator. I know this because it happens to me all of the time.

What kind of clock do you like best?

So what kind of clock do you have?  Is it a digital clock, the kind where you can watch the seconds rush by?  The computer program I use to record my radio show has a clock on it that goes down to the thousandth of a second.  Talk about time flying! On that clock it really moves on.
