R-S Central’s Girls On Verge Of Breaking 24-Year Streak
Not much stands in the way of R-S Central (18-1, 9-0) girls basketball team from winning a conference title this season. They must win two of the next three games to earn it.

The Lady Hilltoppers took care of Chase and Freedom this past week.

If Central beats Patton as they are expected to do so this past Tuesday and then Shelby on Friday, then they will have won their first conference crown in 24 years!!!

He Served In Three Wars!
    He was born in Golden Valley, Rutherford County on August 12, 1915. His name -  Blaine Yelton. He was one of 6 boys and 4 girls. He’s now 96 years old and proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 31 years! That’s right 31 years!

     His family had a farm and saw mill. As a youngster he walked two miles to a one room school house. He quit school in the ninth grade and went to work in a mine and did some logging. He finally moved to Miami, Florida and got a better paying job driving trucks.

Growing up in a non hunting/fishing home may have kept me from taking for granted this great privilege. Today I’m more enthused about the outdoors than any other time in my life. There is still so much to learn about it all. My recent fishing trips have reminded me of this. There are very few fishermen who go after more than one or two species. Most bass fishermen are just that; bass fisherman. Whether it’s February or August, they are still pursuing that bass. Walleye fishermen are set on finding walleye. And the list goes on.

How bright is your life?

The full moon was so bright earlier this month that it woke me up about four o’clock in the morning.  Normally that doesn’t happen.  But my wife and I had left the blinds open.  Then, I rolled over on my right side, facing the window which I rarely do.  I usually sleep on my stomach.  Finally, the moon reached just the right position in the night sky so that its moonbeam was literally at the perfect angle to shine on me.
