Halloween is a time for ghost stories.

And angel stories.

They are in volumes in local libraries, although librarians do say that even the books will sometimes do a disappearing act.

Lula Hutchins Carver, age 89 of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019.

Michael Scott Denning, 63, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Pauline Cash "Peggy" Gilbert, age 97 of Forest City passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Reverend John Jay Huntley, Sr., age 98, of Forest City, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019.

Robin Lee Pendleton, M.D., age 57, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019.

Ronnie Parker, age 68 of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

Vernie H. Houser, age 92, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

I love hunting the Midwest. I've been going there for several years and look forward to it each year at this time. Not only do I get to see some friends that I have come to know, but I get to chase some really big bucks.
