Over the course of his 65 years, Enrique breathed fire into everything he did, from forging beautiful objects from iron to exploring the universe through cinematography. Rutherford Housing Partnership is hosting its 10th annual Gears & Gables cycling ride May 5 in conjunction with downtown Rutherfordton's MayFest celebration. The nonprofit organization provides urgent home repairs for families in need. RHP provides materials; volunteers provide labor.

High School Heroes is a program dedicated to expanding the college-going culture by providing college awareness activities in elementary school classrooms. Heroes talk to the students about college and careers and work with the students on classroom projects. High School Heroes are students from the Building Leaders high school program.
