I’m trying to figure out something again today. Maybe you can help me. I’m trying to understand how we misunderstand each other so easily.
I was in 8th grade and Mr. Daughtry was my Earth Science teacher. I remember him talking about astronomy one day and at the time I had a telescope. So as he talked about a celestial body, I remember him mentioning some of the distinctive features of it. I raised my hand and said, “Can you see it with a telescope?”

BARNES CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH RUTHERFORD REGIONAL
The Forest City Owls Baseball Club announced today the hiring of Breynna Winkler as the Director of Ticket Sales & Community Relations.
The Director of Ticket Sales & Community Relations will have an active role in the community and work with non-profits, youth sports teams and groups of all sizes as well as putting on events and fundraisers at the stadium and throughout Rutherford County.
As I have found over the years and it might be a shock to some, but there are a good number of people from the area, who go up to the Martinsville Speedway at least once a year. I continue to spread the message for the Martinsville since they are the smallest venue on the NASCAR circuit and the short track racing doesn’t get any better than in Henry County, Virginia.

If one has been hunting or fishing long enough, he has a few stories that fit into the category of either questionable or unbelievable. In fact, those tales are so unbelievable that without a witness to confirm the event, most would not only question their veracity but would deny the outcome. I can quickly think about three such stories; all of which involve fishing.
Why are you so busy?
I’m trying to figure out something again today. Maybe you can help me. I’m trying to understand why everyone is so busy.
When my grandfather was a child, he had to split wood to put in the stove, light the fire, and get it hot enough so his mother could fix breakfast. He had to go outside and lower a bucket in a well that was dug by hand and bring water inside the house. He had to take a pail and a stool to the barn to get milk. He had to catch a chicken, kill and clean it so his mom could fix Sunday dinner.
Today you and I flip a knob and the oven preheats. We turn a valve and more water than we can drink pours out. You open the refrigerator and there’s a gallon of milk you bought at the grocery store. You stop by KFC or Bojangles or Popeyes on the way home from work and you’re eating fried chicken.
So if life today requires so much less work, why are you so busy all the time? What are you doing with your time?
Today, take time to sit down with your family and talk. Call an old friend. Write a letter to your high school English teacher. Take time to live positive today.

Former University of North Carolina baseball player, and cancer-survivor, Chase Jones is proud to announce the formation of a new charity to fund pediatric cancer research. The new charity, the Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of children by funding international cancer research projects and supporting local children’s hospitals.
Attention all eventing enthusiasts! The Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE) horse trials competition set for April 12 thru the 14, 2013 is filling up fast. The course layout is brand new with no downhill jumping, all the jumps have been refurbished, we have many new jumps and the turf is in the best condition ever.
For those keeping up with Rutherford County sports, this past week was another successful one for R-S Central baseball. R-S Central (7-2, 3-0) is still undefeated in conference play, thanks to complete-game 13 strikeouts pitching effort by Connor Dailey over Patton.
