The 2023 Carolina Colors Quilt Show hosted by Rutherford County Quilt Guild featured more than 160 quilts on display at Isothermal Community College last week. During the two day show hundreds stopped by to view the quilts on display.

Priscilla Downs, past president of Habitat for Humanity, who volunteers in several different capacities donating at least 10 hours a week, was selected as the Volunteer of the Year at the Volunteer Rutherford annual banquet held recently.

Joy Gillespie went to Heaven on Sunday, October 15, 2023 where she was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was reunited with the love of her life and husband of 70 years, Bailey. Joy stepped away from nursing school in order for them to be married.

Linda Roberts Pruett, age 80, of Forest City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, October 16, 2023.

Philip Marvin Nantz was born September 29, 1940. He peacefully passed away October 18, 2023.

Ruth Reese Johnson

Born Ruth Reese in 1929 and married her beloved David L. Johnson in 1947. She was a wonderful 94 years young residing in Palm Harbor, Florida and formerly from Caroleen, NC. She was called to heaven October 10, 2023.

I love hunting in the Midwest. I've been going there for several years and look forward to it each year at this time.
