Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
Rifle season just opened in Kentucky. Tennessee and Virginia will join the party in a few days. This is, undoubtedly, the best time of the year to be in the deer woods in most states. The bucks are either cruising in search of a doe or they are already chasing one. You folks in Louisiana and Alabama need to take a trip up to your northern neighbors. Listen To Life
Are you ever alone?

I remember from my childhood one particular visit to the circus.  The clowns were hilarious, and I recall one stunt in which one of them drove out this teeny, tiny car, stopped, and then it seemed like a hundred clowns got out.

Does it ever seem to you like all of those clowns have moved into your home?  Or, your office space?

Chase Trojans Football 2011 County Champions!
Chase Trojans Football 2011 County Champions!
This past Saturday, October 29th, it was very cold down on the East Rutherford Cavalier football field.

A cold night became the scene for a seemingly one sided game. However, in the second quarter, the Cavaliers became a hot team and almost took the county football championship game away from the dominant Chase Trojans. The Cavaliers finally scored but could not make the extra point and the score was 21-6. Chase was held off at the 4 yard line, but made a field goal to post the score, 24-6.

Trojans Claim County Football In 2011
Trojans Claim County Football In 2011
Last Friday’s football game was everything East Rutherford and Chase could have asked for in the end.

Chase owned the game, but East Rutherford rallied late.

However, an incomplete pass off the hands of East’s Griffin Stamey as he jumped for the ball close to the goal line and as time expired sealed the 2011 Rutherford County Championship, 24-20 for the Trojans in 2011.

Chase did everything they wanted to do until the final few minutes of the contest as they put together long methodical drives and kept possession of the ball for 25 of the first 36 minutes.

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
I’m one of those guys who really try to be prepared – really overly prepared. And when it comes to deer hunting away from home and in the cold; it is that much more crucial. As a result of my hang-up, my favorite piece of gear is a backpack. I prefer one that is at least 3000 cubic inches and has lots of ways to tie stuff down on the outside as well. It is good for it to be waterproof also. It seems that no matter how warm it may be, I’m still carrying a backpack.
