Do you persevere when a problem is chasing you?

I really love bluebirds. I’m constantly looking for new places to put boxes for them to nest in.

I noticed a pair of bluebirds building in one box in early spring.  I also saw a mockingbird hanging around, chasing the bluebirds away from the box; even sitting on top of the box.  But the bluebirds kept building anyway.

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
I’ve always heard that writing is more about perspiration than inspiration. It’s true. Even though it is very fulfilling to write about the outdoors, it is also difficult at times to continue to find worthy subjects and stories. Sometimes my mind soars with information faster than my fingers can type. Other times, those same fingers seem like they’re waiting impatiently for the next command. During the times of inspiration, I can’t wait to get to the computer. During other times, I dread its call. Every writer loves the moments of inspiration.

Once Again . . . We Pause To Remember!
Once Again . . . We Pause To Remember!

The presentation of our flag... the military uniforms proudly worn... the speeches spoken... the crowd that gathered to listen... all a part of a ceremony honoring those who gave the supreme sacrifice for our nation.

One day, each year, we take the time to remember. It is as if we are listening to all those who seemingly speak from their graves. We salute them. The respectful silence that falls over the event embraces our time and place.  We are filled with emotion. Some have tears flowing down their cheeks. We are thankful. We are grateful. Some remember a member of their family who gave of themselves. We are proud Americans that come together to remind the world not only why we exist, but because of those who make it possible for us to exist.
