Listen To Life
What’s your passion?

We all have a passion for something, that is, we care deeply about something in life and we could give a lot of our time and energy, attention and money to that cause. I coach lots of people searching for their passion.

I’ve discovered that maybe you think of passion just as something you can get excited about, something that you have be all revved up about, when that’s not necessarily so.  Sure, you want to be enthusiastic about life in general and your passion specifically, but true passion is something a little different.

Fish like structure. Anyone who has been fishing long enough realizes this. That structure can be buried far from the bank or it can be in the shallow water, in full view for every fisherman to see. It comes in the form of trees, bushes, rocks, or just a different type of terrain. But it holds fish. No matter what bait a person wants to throw, he’ll always find himself tossing it into one of these areas. Sometimes the fish hold tight to these places. In these times it takes pin point casting accuracy. You can’t just throw it close. It has to be deep within the tree or bush. Other times the fish seem to linger out a little farther. It’s almost always easier to catch more fish when this happens. And it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out why.

Thomas Jefferson Soccer Continues 2012 Title Quest, East Baseball Too
Thomas Jefferson Soccer Continues 2012 Title Quest, East Baseball Too
One county club is vying for it’s sixth 2A title, while another is fighting to claim its’ first ever title in school history.

Three years ago, a girls soccer team full of freshman and sophomores made it to the scene of Rutherford County athletics and a great impression as well at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. The first time I watched them play, I knew back then that this was a team which could threaten for championship. Those ladies will get that chance to play for a 1A state title this weekend in Raleigh and gives TJCA the opportunity to earn its first ever state title in any sport.

Is your life like lasagna

My wife makes the best lasagna you’ve ever eaten. I watched her make it once.  She prepares her sauce with secret ingredients that I can’t tell you about or she’d have to kill me. She mixes together all of these cheeses. Then she carefully layers all of these ingredients in her special lasagna dish. It’s the layering that attracted my attention.

She puts a layer of noodles, then sauce, then cheese. And she cooks it all together, layer upon layer, until it’s done.

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
Another turkey season has all but ended. There’s just a few more days left. It has been a really weird season. It seems the action started earlier this year perhaps because of the warmer than normal temperatures. Even before opening day the toms were strutting, gobbling, and running to the hens. Hunters had to trade their shotguns for binoculars. After opening day the action began as normal, but then a cold spell hit. After that it was as if their mouths were frozen shut – a few gobbles on the roost and then it seemed they moved throughout the day in silence. Just yesterday I watched a long-beard remain totally unaffected by my calling, even though he was without hens. I know, I know, that may say something about my ability to call, but it’s not like they ran off. They just remained uninterested. It’s funny that when you think you have gotten this hunting thing down, nature throws you a curve ball and reminds you how little you really know and how much what you do is determined by things you have no control over. That’s a mouthful of truth! And it goes for more important things than hunting as well.
